Dr. Semb is a consultant cardiologist, the founder and leader of a Preventive Cardio-Rheuma Clinic, the leader of the cardiovascular-rheuma research team at Diakonhjemmet hospital, Oslo, Norway and has 5 PhD students. She is a regular reviewer for several international rheumatology and cardiology journals. She has published more than 190 original publications in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters and conference abstracts. She has led 3 clinical trails/studies, participated in 17 clinical trails/studies, whereas 13 trials/studies have been investigator initiated. She was the founder (2002) and leader of The Norwegian Female Cardiologist Society (NKKS) 2002, member of Eular Task Force group for Recommendations for cardiovascular primary prevention in patients with inflammatory joint disease in 2008-10, a steering committee member of the A TransAtlantic Cardiovascular risk Calculator for Rheumatoid Arthritis (ATACC-RA) consortium, a member of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Working Group of Cardiovascular Pharmacology and Drug Therapy and a member of the OSTRA research network.
