The ATACC-RD calculator

Observational RA cohorts with an overlapping minimum baseline dataset and systematic prospective identification and collection of cardiovascular events were identified and merged into a single dataset.   This was used to develop an RA-specific risk calculator, however several challenges emerged.  These are described in some of the papers emerging from the ATACC-RA collaboration and Professor Cynthia Crowson’s PhD thesis (supervised by Dr. Anne-Grete Semb), that was based on this cohort.  Relevant publications are listed below.

Other studies enabled by ATACC-RD

The size and data quality of the ATACC-RA cohort has enabled several other investigations (beyond the original objective of developing a risk calculator), particularly with regards to the interplay between various classical and novel cardiovascular risk factors in determining the outcome of people with RA (SURF-RA).  Currently a prospective observational cohort study is ongoing in several ATACC-RD centers. The design of this study is shown below.
