The Arthritis Centre University of Manitoba
The Arthritis Centre located in Winnipeg, Manitoba sees over 2800 persons with rheumatic conditions each year; most are referred from Manitoba and Northwest Ontario. The majority of people followed have inflammatory arthritis such as RA (60%) or systemic autoimmune rheumatic disease such as lupus. The Arthritis Centre section of rheumatology is associated with the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Health Sciences, School of Medicine and runs an active rheumatology training program. Section members have active research initiatives in rheumatoid arthritis, lupus and scleroderma and vasculitis. In addition the section of rheumatology has active research initiatives in First Nations rheumatic disease.
